Enyimba Dump Rivers United Out of Caf Confederation Cup

Former Africa champions, Enyimba international on Sunday progressed to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup at the expense of Nigeria Professional Football League rivals, Rivers United, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The People's Elephants traveled to the Adoke Amaisimaka stadium in Port-Harcourt with a slim one-nil advantage in the first leg.
The match played at the Adoke Amaisimaka stadium in Port-Harcourt witnessed end to end action from both teams and it was Fortune Omoniwari who broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute.
The second half resumed with same fire power from both sides and away side pressing to level the scoreline.
The Pride of Rivers stood their ground throughout and the game 1-0 in favour of the home team and 1-1 on aggregate.
The two teams had to go straight into the penalty shoot outs and Enyimba won the 5-4 after both sides take the first five penalties.
Meanwhile, Enyimba will know its group opponents on Monday as Africa soccer governing body has confirmed Monday to be the draw date for the qualified teams.
